RocketCart Shopping System: Advancing the online retail experience

Content Tags & Search Engines

Dave Green

Search engine optimization can include using the RocketCart keyword field on the Product Information page. The original use of the keywords field was to aid in product searches. Over the past few years search engines have started locating these keywords along with the product descriptions.

Selecting keywords for inclusion in the field should be done carefully. Generally speaking it is always preferable to use words that are also part of the product description - short or long. It's also a good idea to repeat the product name. Also remember to separate keyword with comas and avoid using strings where words are repeated.

Whether or not you plan on using the search facility included with RocketCart it's a great way to improve visibility to the web and to search engines.
